Aubrey Kilduff, a local high school student, has been awarded the 2016 Sarasota Regional Science, Engineering, and Technology Fair award. Aubrey is an intern here at The Roskamp Institute. She used some of the results from her research with Dr. Rad Tzekov, who leads our Vision Research Program in neurodegenerative diseases, to create the project “Effects of Mild Traumatic Brain Injury on the Visual System in Mice”. She won The Dart Foundation Award for Medicine & Health and $1,000. In addition, her project is a finalist for the 2016 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair (the world’s largest international pre-college science competition) in Phoenix, AZ.
