We are pleased to announce Maxwell Eisenbaum as the 16th graduate from our Neuroscience Ph.D. Program. Max is from Buffalo, New York, and he obtained two Master’s degrees, in Biomedical Engineering and in Neuroscience, from the University of Buffalo. He joined the Roskamp Institute as a Research Technician in 2017 and began his Ph.D. research in April 2018.

Max has worked on a variety of projects throughout his time at the Institute and his graduate project, with supervisors Drs. Corbin Bachmeier and Joseph Ojo, has investigated the role of the brain vasculature in the pathology observed following Traumatic Brain Injury. Max’s research on the contribution of the cerebrovasculature to the progression of brain pathology following TBI was recently published in the scientific journals Neurobiology of Disease and Fluids and Barriers of the Central Nervous System. Owing to the ongoing pandemic, the viva voce examination was again held virtually (our third so far), with participants in Sarasota, and examiners located in New York and Southampton, UK.
