The organization Veterans for Common Sense, working with other veterans and military service organizations, hosted a Capitol Hill Forum by Zoom for a select group of leading Gulf War Illness (GWI) scientists and clinicians to present to members of government and Congress about the importance of GWI research and the need for continued funding. Our President and CEO, Dr. Fiona Crawford, was one of those invited to participate. The researchers discussed the impact government funding has had on our understanding of GWI and the advances that have been made toward identifying treatments for this multi-symptom illness.
Dr. Crawford, with the Roskamp GWI team also in attendance, showcased the Institute’s various approaches to tackling GWI, and highlighted the fact that our work has advanced two novel treatment approaches from the lab bench into our Roskamp Clinic.
